Tango Buenos Aires at GMU,  8 p.m., Sunday, February 9 at 2 p.m;  Back by popular demand! Tango Buenos Aires returns offering its historical perspective on this highly sensual and evocative dance style. Born in the slums and brothels of turn of the century Argentina, tango evolved into a dance form for high society.  In this production, the audience is transported to a smoky Buenos Aires club where couples perform a mating dance like no other. This is tango - a deliciously dangerous dance of love where the partners provoke, tease, and dare each other with a gesture, a look, and an abundance of intricate footwork. Dancers escort the audience through the various forms of tango, backed by jaunty, haunting, melancholy, and even wistful music played by a live ensemble of piano, violin, cello, bass, and bandoneón. This sumptuous performance culminates with a heart-stopping finale by the gaucho wielding the deadly bolederos short ropes with balls attached - in an unmatched display of fearlessness and bravado! Tickets $40, $32, $20
